Larson Electronics Announces Release of 150 Watt LED High Bay Light to Replace 400 Watt Metal Halide Fixtures

Kemp, Texas (PRWEB) June 13, 2013

The GAU-HB-30X5W-1227 LED high bay light from Larson Electronics is a powerful and rugged industrial grade lighting solution that gives operators the ability to replace their bulky and aging HID lighting systems with a light weight, efficient, and longer lived alternative. This LED high bay light pulls only 150 watts at 1.25 amps from standard 120 VAC, yet produces light output comparable to that of 400 watt metal halide light fixtures. Like metal halide fixtures, the light from this LED light is bright white and very evenly distributed, but unlike metal halide, these LED fixtures run much cooler and do not experience color shifting and erratic operation as the lamp ages. These fixtures also do not require any ballast or large reflector assembly, making them smaller, lighter, and more reliable than standard HID systems which require ballasts to power the bulb and large reflectors to effectively distribute light output.

Additionally, while a metal halide lamp may run for up to 20,000 hours before it loses its color quality and must be replaced, these LED light fixtures can run for 50,000 or more hours with no discernible color shift or changes in operating performance. These lights are constructed of heavy gauge aluminum for light weight and durability and have an unbreakable lens to resist damage from scratching and impacts. These fixtures feature CREE XLamp-XPG

Larson Electronics Releases High Output Explosion Proof LED Emergency Light

Kemp, TX (PRWEB) May 21, 2013

The HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-G2 Class 1 Division 2 emergency LED light from Larson Electronics provides operators with a hazardous location approved lighting solution capable of withstanding the damaging effects of corrosive environments while providing enhanced output and operation capabilities. This Class 1 Division 2 approved light fixture features glass reinforced polyester construction and an acrylic diffuser lens cover sealed with a poured in housing gasket for excellent durability and resistance to the damaging effects of wetness, rust, and corrosion. Larson Electronics has improved the light output of this fixture through the addition of their second generation LED tubes which provide 30% more light output than standard T8 lamps while offering twice the operational life with a 50,000 hour lamp life rating. Added versatility comes in the form of an emergency battery backup system that provides emergency operation capability in the event of power failures. During normal operation this fixture operates from standard 120-277 VAC current much like typical fluorescent lights, however, when power is abruptly cut, the emergency backup battery automatically engages and powers the light for 90 minutes. Once power is restored, operation returns to normal and a built in charging system returns the battery to a ready state, automatically preparing the fixture for the next outage. This explosion proof LED light fixture is approved for Class 1 Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D locations and UL1598A approved as well, making it ideal for wet and corrosive environments where flammable gases and vapors may be present as well as standard non hazardous locations where wetness is an issue. The HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-G2 provides all the functionality of standard fluorescent explosion proof lights, but offers higher output and better light quality as well as extreme long lamp life, all of which adds up to a more reliable as well as more cost effective lighting solution when compared to standard fluorescent fixtures.

We are getting more demand for emergency ballast equipped explosion proof lights and hazardous location lights, said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com. For a small incremental cost, operators can meet the requirements for Class 1 Division 2 emergency lighting, while still having a fully functional light fixture for daily operational use. It makes a lot more sense than purchasing and installing separate hazardous location lights, particular over doorways and exits. In addition, we can configure these lights for surface, pendant or wall mount.

Larson Electronics produces a full range of industrial and commercial lighting equipment, explosion proof LED work lights, hazardous locations lights, intrinsically safe lighting, and LED work lights. Nothing but understanding the moods we have

no understanding for a negligible divide

to get the feet in shape for the perilous

down to the end or beyond where the darkest door

leads out to the brightest plain

Herman hopes readers will connect with his poetry; he feels the themes are universal. I want readers to take away a journey from dark to light, he says.

American Christmas Tree Association Celebrates Earth Day By Looking Forward To Christmas

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2013

Earth Day, a celebration of awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment every day, not just one day a year, is actually a perfect day to start planning now for an earth-friendly Christmas.

Consumers increasingly demand more sustainable products and have so many great choices available when it comes to Christmas trees, holiday decorations and seasonal lighting. Artificial Christmas trees that can be reused season after season, farmed Christmas trees, living trees, wreaths, swags and other holiday decor can be found in a huge array of styles, sizes and materials.

Earth Day also gives us an opportunity to think about how we can all honor our environment this holiday season, said Jami Warner, executive director of the non-profit American Christmas Tree Association (ACTA).

ACTA offers a few Earth Day-friendly tips:

LED Waves Celebrates Earth Month with Specific Provides All April

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) April 04, 2013

New York City-based LED lighting supplier and manufacturer LED Waves is observing Earth Month with special offers throughout April 2013. Online orders of $ 100 or more are eligible for free FedEx Ground shipping within the continental US by entering coupon code EARTH2013. This offer can also be applied to large and/or special orders placed over the phone by calling 1(800) 986-0169.

The company is also running lighting sales throughout the month, whereby a different LED lighting product is eligible for discounts of 10-25% for the day. These limited time specials are posted through the LED Waves blog, as well as through their social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Orders over $ 100 (after the discount) may be combined with the free shipping offer.

LED Waves offers energy-efficient light bulbs, retrofit LED light fixtures and attendant power supplies for commercial, industrial and residential installations. While the company carries a selection of omni-directional incandescent replacement bulbs, their main area of expertise lies in LED floods and down lights.

These products maximize efficiency by making use of the directional light output. Focusing a directional light source over a workspace prevents lumens from being wasted within the fixture, up at the ceiling, and towards other non-useful areas of the environment. This quality, combined with characteristically high lumens per Watt, make LED lighting surpass every other lighting technology in efficiency.

The most generous discounts this Earth Month are to be applied to the companys OEM line of LED lights made in the USA. This line includes LED MR16s (low-voltage spotlights), a series of LED PAR lamps (halogen replacements), two foot and four foot LED T8 tubes (fluorescent replacements), LED recessed lights (for new constructions) and an LED high bay (metal halide and high pressure sodium replacement).

While a standard one to three year warranty applies to LED Waves entire product line (see site for details), each item from the companys exclusive OEM line comes with a 5 year warranty. This coverage is backed by the quality assured by in-house assembly. The companys engineers prioritize high end components, including diodes from industry leader Cree, and custom-machined aluminum heat sinks to promote the lifespan of the finished product.

Earth Day falls on Monday, April 22nd this year. With ongoing special offers all month long, LED Waves hopes to accelerate the adoption of LED technology in time for this landmark. Lighting accounts for 15 to 75 percent of electricity usage in American homes and businesses. The adoption of long-lasting, energy-saving LED lights promises to reduce worldwide carbon emissions for years to come.

American-made LED PAR16 Light-weight Bulb Now Available with GU10 Base

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) October 16, 2012

Brooklyn LED lighting supplier and manufacturer LED Waves is proud to release the Houston PAR16 LED Light Bulb, a <5 Watt replacement for 35 Watt halogen spot lights. The energy saving bulb comes with a twist-and-lock base, making it compatible with standard line voltage lighting systems common in residential and commercial installations.

The Houston LED PAR16 takes design notes from the Los Angeles 2.0 MR16 LED light bulb. Both bulbs feature LED Waves revolutionary heat sink. This form, 3D printed with aluminum using Computer Numerical Controls, is composed of 54 radial fins that maximize the surface area within the standard 2 inch PAR16/MR16 size. This increases air flow, passively cooling the bulb. Reducing the ambient temperature reduces stress on the LED board and driver, effectively extending the life of the entire bulb.

Both the Houston and the LA 2.0 are built with Cree XB-D LEDs. These chips employ the American brands SC3 Technology Platform, replacing traditional sapphire substrates with silicon carbide a material which is as effective yet more affordable. The XB-D is Crees newest development for directional lighting applications, making the Houston LED PAR16 a replacement flood light that is as cost efficient as it is energy efficient.

Further contributing to a lower purchase price is the stateside assembly of these LED bulbs: Since they are made in-house in the USA, LED Waves saves roughly a third on total production costs. As a manufacturer and a supplier, they are able to pass these savings to wholesalers and end users alike. In-house production also affords more quality control, allowing LED Waves to cover each exclusive lamp with a 5 year warranty.

Both the LA 2.0 LED MR16 and the Houston LED PAR16 are made with warm white (~3000K) or neutral white (~4000K) LEDs, in beam angles of 17 or 37 degrees.

Released this past summer, the LA 2.0 LED MR16 quickly gained popularity for its low price and its compatibility with 12 volt LED track lighting and cable lighting systems. LED Waves created the Houston with a GU10 base as a 100-240 volt analog to the original designs GU5.3 base. This twist-and-lock socket has more applications in the residential sector because it is extremely user-friendly.

The Houston LED PAR16 is an exciting addition to the small companys rapidly growing line of exclusive lamps and luminaires made in the USA. Other products include an LED recessed down light, an LED T8 replacement tube, an LED high bay (for industrial facilities) and a selection of LED PAR lamps. Breaking from the industrys standard practices, LED Waves plans to offer an affordable, energy-saving solution for every commercial, industrial and residential lighting application all made with pride in the USA.
