History of Silicon Valley course site (2002)

I designed the History of Silicon Valley course site in 2002 to augment the History 262S research seminar at Stanford University. Since the course is taught via videoconference between Georgia Tech and Stanford, the site integrates a vast array of disparate online course materials into one location and serves as a centralized locus for student collaboration. The Flash-based course site is dynamically driven by XML design templates and features a threaded HTML-Flash hybrid discussion forum with dynamically scalable text and images, updatable document and image archives, online versions of all course readings, and a live technology headline RSS ticker. Additionally, the site employs early releases of the Flash Communication Server to provide cross-platform, multi-session live video and text capabilities as a means for extending collaborative distance learning tools outside the Stanford and Georgia Tech classrooms.
